i just recently bought materials for the construction of 2 140 gallon do you guys think ppl would appeal to buying a
homemade tank

no,specially wooden ones......

unless you have a flood repair guarranty and and anti-rot wood!

Id put my plywood tank up against any glass tank any day. I am more comfortable with the quality than I ever was with any other tank. That being said, the general population will probably not be comfortable with them.

thanks for the heads up i got the plywood for free and i figured id build 2 and try to sell one

i like the wood tanks too i have 3 10 gallons i use for feeders and aggressives this time i wanna try a 140 gallon

i got some plexi too would it be a good idea to use that for an interior layer

It wouldn't be worth it considering what the value is on a 150g tank now days you'd probably spend more building it then people would pay..

Well ok then you still wouldn't make a ton of money though.. :) My point I guess was aquariums don't retain value at all. And I think a plywood tank even just built would only be worth what a used 150g or so would be worth or less and hard to get rid of even at a reasonable 100-150.00. Most aquarium buyers are very very picky and want alot for nothing. Alot stray away from anything they can't just buy glass tops for, anything that only has one viewable side, etc.

But if you have extra and don't mind putting in the time build it I guess and see what it sells for...
