So I hate to be that guy, but I've searched and searched for a thread will all the different plywood sealant options compared and come up with nil. There are a million and a half threads for different builds, some successful, some not, but none saying this is easier to use than that or this one lasts longer.

So, is there anyone out there there has used different methods or really liked the route they took? If so I'd love some thoughts on it. I'm finally in a house I own again and am starting construction on a plywood tank this week. I have most of it figured out expect how I want to handle the water proofing. Honestly I've seen a whole lot of methods and it scares me to pick one without knowing it is best. So, any thoughts?

How do you plan on building your plywood tank? Straight up plywood, framed with plywood interior, or stacked with plywood interior? With so many ways to build a plywood tank and so many ways to waterproof one that should eliminate some options on waterproofing.

Are people still using Max ACR? Right now I'm thinking fill the screw holes (I've seen some say Bondo, others say stay away, thoughts here?), fiberglass the seams and corners, then a few coats of Max ACR with the final one tinted. Seems like That should work as long as I am not missing something?

I guess I should ask, will silicone stick to Max ACR?

The one I have decided to use based on others builds, color options, and ease of silicone sticking is Pond Armor. Price is kinda salty if you go HUGE but it couldn't be easier to use and it doesn't change color or degrade.

I keep hearing Pond Armor is very difficult to work with due to the thickness which has kept me away from it when combined with the price. I'm not going gigantic, but at 12-13' long and 4' wide or so one quart of the stuff will barely cover the bottom of the tank, I suspect it would cost a small fortune to properly coat the wood. That said it does seem like one of the better ones I am considering.

Here you go. I wrote this a few years ago so there may be some new products on the market but this should still cover most of the big ones:

You are the man! This is exactly what I was looking for but struggling to find. This should really be stickied, or at least mentioned in the DIY links post.
In any case, a quick look through and I'm still leaning towards the Max ACR.

Thanks guys!
