We are moving this weekend, I swore at one point in time i saw a thread or sticky on here with guidelines and suggestions for moving a tank and fish to a new home.
(Not to mention not only are we moving, but upgrading the tank at the same time)

Semi-useful link: http://www.howtodothings.com/pets-and-animals/a1783-how-to-move-an-aquarium.html

Adding a few things to the list from the link above:

-I would suggest drip acclimating the fish, instead of the float method described in the article.
-Seachem Stability, may be something you look into to help the BB along with the transfer.
-Try to keep your substrate submersed in old tank water as well during the move, as it holds quite a bit of BB, if you decide to switch substrates in your new tank, bag the old stuff up in nylon stockings (cheaper than media bags) and put it in the tank for a week or so. On a side note: A new clean dust pan with a rubber lipped edge is fantastic for picking up old substrate.
-Take your time, getting rushed never helped anyone, this is going to be a minor p.i.t.a. but it can be done.

I'm sure theres more, hopefully more people will chime in.
