I cant seem to get any of my three bichirs to eat carnivore pellets, there the hikari brand, ive tried several times and they spit them out and make a huge mess with red crap floating all around. is there a trick or something, right now Ive been feeding them shrimp, silversides, squid and have tried going days with just offering carni pellets but that just seems to make them mad. everyone is always saying that carni pellets are so great, so what am I doing wrong, they hate the stuff

Well look what else your feeding them. They are going to take that over the pellets anyday. Starve them for about 3 days, no food at all, and they should come around. My senegalus ate them the first time I offered them, but he doesn't get all that good stuff you feed yours.

Stuff them inside the frozen food for a few feedings, so they get a taste for them, then starve for three days and try only pellets again.

agree...starve them for several days and try again with the carnivore pellets.

also some bichirs are just more picky...not all of mine would eat the pellets.

Yup, try to stuff food with pellets.
Another trick you could try is to soak them in leftover shrimp juice, could work.

On another note, i notice some bichirs LOVE pellets, while others don't.

yeah some love, some dont. and some can eat so smooth but some so hard(chew, spit, stuck in throat bla bla)

tried warm the tank yet? raise temperature a bit would help. My outside bichir that hit sunlight eager for food than insider.
