Liveaquaria was selling them for over 300 dollars and my lfs has one for 30 I thought this was a pretty big price differential just want to make sure I'm not losing out on a good deal

there is a difference. I don't know all the scientific info, but there is a true zebra and then that looks very similiar but is not the same thing. I would prolly get the one at the lfs regardless, but sure someone with the L numbers will chime in shortly..

L-46 is the true zebra and then there is a columbian zebra and maybe some other similiar looking ones...(I did a quick search on google)

The Zebra pleco is unique.
I have attached some pictures.

Scientific Name:
Hypancistrus zebra

Common Name:
ZEBRA PLECO – IMPERIAL ZEBRA PLECO – L046 HYPANCISTRUS SP
