I have a kirrin (aka parrothorn/ parrot/FH), and it's got it's breeding tube dropped.

Seems like it was triggered by me adding a wild caught severum to the tank last night.

I'm thinking about getting another one for it to breed with, but I wanted to know if anyone knows how to sex them?

This pic shows off the breeding tube, looks slanted:

that one is a female. look at the tube and her female spot on her top fin

cool thank you bro!

So the spots on the dorsal fin mean female, so if I find another one that doesn't have the spots, chances are it's male?

Male breeding tube should be flat on bottom and like a cylinder right?

dont know but it has awesome color bro!

Thanks bro :D I got lucky with her, I think I paid $10 for her when she was smaller. She has a lot of potential, I should've shot pics last night when she was showing off for the severum, her red throat and chest looked better.

I'm switching her diet to HaiFeng 'Fast Color' today and see if that does anything for her.

Here's an old pic of her:

Same fish in both pics bro, but the second pic is the 'before' pic when I first got her.

I picked it because it didn't have the parrot mouth that looks like a vag but as she grows up it's morphing to a normal parrot mouth. Not as ugly as some parrots I've seen, but still not what it was like when she was a baby.
