ive been looking into buying a group of these. but i was wondering if there is another cichlid that is peaceful colorful and gets to a reasonable size like these. anyone have some kind in mind?

If you haven't done so already, google the word geophagus. Hope I spelled that right!

Gourami swami is correct. I thought that mos(defenate) had mis-spelled jarupari LOL My mistake!

yeah there's like a million geo's..

oh i wasnt quite sure, when i asked somone about them they said geo also, so i figured it was the same fish just different names. but the jurapari is what big als has listed so i thought that was the name. anyone have any hints on some good colored cichlids that can go along with almost anything without any major problems?

For the record, Jurupari's aren't Geophagus. They're a whole different genus - Satanoperca.

Blue acaras are pretty mild-mannered in the whole scheme of things, but mine certainly holds his own as well.
