We took in a SA approx 6-8", the Aro swims erractically, almost looks like he injured his spinal column or some type of deformity occured. He's been with us since the end of Nov 2007..He is eating however after swimming around the tank he lays on the bottom almost motionless. (like the swimming motion exhausts him)...Then he darts around and starts swimming again..Will he ever return to normal? He's isloated so nobody can pick on him or induce any external stress...he's actually growing....Would the humane thing to do is put him down or just wait and see?? Any feedback:popcorn:

it is feeding. No signs of suffering beyond what you describe. I would hold on to it....( it will die, eventually, but untill then..)

I said this in another thread, when i got my first silver at 2"(no egg sac) he started growing and at around 5" his spine seemed deformed he would swim with his head up and tail down, and sometimes sideways or crooked. He was eating like a beast and in no time when he hit 8-10" he started swimming perfect. As Miguel said if he is eating and he doesn't look stressed(by his eyes or color loss/fin loss) you should keep him till he gets better or dies.

As long as it's eating give it a chance.

The "ayes" have it! thanks for the input I'll keep you updated of it's progress or demise..

I would keep him too. Do you have a pic of him?
