My Betta has recently been to stay in one spot at the top of the tank. It is always above the heater. I just got back from a vacation in Cancun. Pls help.
What’s the temperatures in the tank? The tank size? It could also be that there is too much flow and that right above the heater is a dead spot in flow

It's a 20 gallon tank. Temperature is around 78°F. I have a tetra whisper filter, which I have to have on a semi high setting to prevent it from sounding like a hurricane filter. It will get really loud. The heater is in a corner opposite to the filter.

Maybe try switching to a sponge filter. Bettas don’t need that much filtration, but with sponge filters you rarely have to worry about ammonia, nitrate or nitrite
