Is there anything wrong with this Arowana?

Hi all,
Can you please advise if this body posture is normal in Arowanas? Its been the same from the time my brother got it in 2012. Now its approx 40cmphoto 1.JPGphoto 2.JPGphoto 3.JPGphoto 4.JPG

I'm no arowana keeper but that is the first I've ever seen that, definitely not normal

Looks like its back/spine is bent. It's not common in the wild. Has to due with some growing deformities. How big was the tank it was growing into? I'm thinking it could be due to the fact that it was cramped up in a small tank when growing.

Its bent spine....quite common in Arowanas especially the ones that were kept in small aquariums.

Yes, quite common in deformed aros.
 
It grew up in a tank that was too small for it most likely. Hopefully your brother is giving it the room it needs. Always remember that the tank should be wider than the fish is long. And the wider the better. A full grown silver needs a tank 4ft wide at the least. BARE MINIMUM. This one may not grow that large because of the deformity and it's likely been stunted.
