I have had the dorado divided in the 125 gallon for about a week now...on one side is the dorado by itself and on the other a jar and wolf fish...The reason i divided them was the dorado kept picking fights with the wolf and jar and the dorado got f'ed up by the wolf so i separated it to heal up....my question is Is there any possible way to get them to get along? I tried to remove the divider twice already and as soon as i release the dorado, it goes after the jar and its a stalemate so they just never stop fighting....i dont really want to let the dorado go by i think im going to have to. they are in a 125 and thats the biggest i got right now....Cant set up a bigger tank till we are done remodeling....

well dorados really just do nothing but try and beat the crap out of everything......if its not going to work out, then its not going to work out. but that doesn't mean you can't give it one more good try.

True...I think ill just give it one more try...i doubt its gonna work...as im typing this i can see the jar and dorado just staring at each other through the divider and waiting til i take it out...

maybe keep the divider in for a longer period of time. perhaps the fish will get used to not being able to fight each other......then hopefully they don't learn otherwise when you take the divider out.

I have a similar situation, I am continually trying to comm my two Dorado. 4th attempt now, seems to be going well this time, its been a week.

I have found as long as there is a place or two where they don't have direct sight of each other they seem to have a break every now and then. I also have a similar sized wolf that hides in a log, if he comes out they do fight but they can rest as the Dorado doesn't look or go into the log.

Thanks for the info.My tank is bare with a couple of rocks...maybe ill put more decor in there to try to block them from seeing each other all the time..

yes add things to break up there line of sight plus that dorado might out grow that wolf but wolfs are tuff so it may be okay but they may stop fighting or they may never stop its hard to say keep trying thow

i've seen the videos on youtube of dorado tanks with arowanas and even schools of dorado, but everybody here that i talk to have had nothing but bad luck mixing dorados with anything. mine is only 6" but i can't put anything in the tank without him attacking it, he even attacks the gravel vacuum!!!

Mine isnt that aggressive yet but i dont think hes gonna get any less aggressive....the jar and dorado are already attacking each other through the divider...
