is there really such thing as a green convict??

i saw one at my lfs and i was wondering if they were just trying to charge more for them or if they are real, they did look a little bit clooler and more colorful than normal baby convicts, the ones they were selling were about an inch long.
they had a tealish shimmery scales near their gills and body, and also had a red flare on their dorsal fins. they had convict body shape and stripes as well though.

anyone ever seen these or heard of them??

I second hybrid.

IME hybrid convicts will act like HRP cichlids at best. Many of the hybrids I kept in the past were super skittish and could not hold their own in small cichlid tanks.

There is no such thing. It could be another archo or crypto sp. or a HRP X con hybrid.

i got him at tongs in orange county. guy said they were not a hybrid but were specially bred to have green tints to them. the picture is bad quality sorry they look completely white but the back half of the fish is ligh green. they look like short body to me too
any opinions?

I really don't see any green in that fish, it could just be the picture quality though. It looks like a run of the mill pink convict.
