I hate to ask such silly questions, but I don't know ****. I have a 35 gallon breeder with 8 Saulosi (2 males 6 females). I received a fluval 403 free from a buddy and have been using it in my tank. The fish love the current it creates but I just realized it has a flow rate that is 300+ gph according to the website.

Is this ok? I haven't had any trouble so far, but wasn't sure if too much filtering could create problems.

Please let me know of any "benefits" or "problems" that this setup might have.

I know the best way to resolve this issue is a bigger tank.......lol

IMO - Only problem is wasted electricity and space...

the general rule is there is no such thing as overfiltration only too much current by using lots of filtration. such as using an Fx5 on your tank, good filtartion but it would be like whitewater rapids.

As long as the fish can tolerate the current, there is no such thing as "over filtering" in my opinion.
