I'm Over Here Now
Just what the title says. Is there an amount that is to much? I set up a second fx5 in my 220. One filter has all 3 trays full of only bio-max for bb the second one I set up as a mechanical filter with 1 pad and a s*** load of carbon in socks. Approximately 40 oz. Just wondering if I went overboard

I guess if it clogs up that would be an issue. I don't run carbon in my filters unless I medicate and then it goes in a sock in the HOB.

That's a lot of carbon. I would say as long as you don't have clogging problems you should be ok. You should give purigen a try, supposedly it's better than carbon and it's rechargeable.
