First off I apologize for the guy on the TV. I really looked at Youtube for like 10 minutes for music to overlay, and apparently Youtube and I have different tastes in music. I'd love to hear what they call the stuff I listen to IF they call that stuff "rock" :(

Anyways, I have another potential ticking timebomb tank going. Would like input from the folks keeping these fish on any ideas to increase my chances of a successfull cohab?

Hope you enjoy......

what is the dimension of the tank? there is nothing wrong with your current stocks. I have exactly similar fishes like yours at home, but I dont keep them in the same tank. I used to keep the dorado in the com tank, but then I seperated them because of their habbits bothering other fishes, eventhough there were no serious injuries occured. I also keep my aimara in a tank of its own, because I like it that way. But I see you've managed the combinations in your tank. Is there any aggressions between them? If not, then everything seems ok in your tank. I would add another 2-3 dorados in that tank if there are still enough space, since they are schooling fishes.

You've got to love dorados. I've tried this combo twice but always end up selling the dorado when they start to put on some size. I started to fear for the rays.

Dorados eat so fast Idk how you get enough food to everyone else.

Not worried about the Dorado and rays, or rays and Aimara. It's the Dorado and Aimara, or at least I thought that would be the problem.

I already had to remove the biggest Dorado after messing up the smaller 2. Should have seen it swim when it hit the 750. Then when it saw the Brycon that dwarfs the Dorado.

The current tank is a 180.6x2x2. Wanted to get them used to smaller rays in there before unleashing them with the monster rays in the 10x4. I think I remember having similar issues last time I tried a small group of Dorado. Need a smaller tank. No room to establish territories and no issues..... I think I grew my last group out in a 40.

I'm gonna make sure the 1st Dorado survives the night with the rays and then possibly add the other 2 to the big tank tomorrow. Judging by the way the 1st acted in the 750 I think as long as I have several larger fishes in the tank I'm hoping they will ignore eachother.... The 1st is happily shoaling with the 2 Brycon.

I believe it will work out fine. I have mixed my Aimara with all kind of fish, from clown loach, barb, to p-bass, arowana, and Aimara gets along with any other fish, except with another Aimara.

The combo in the video lasted one evening. NOT on the Aimara's account but rather the Dorado trying to kill eachother. Chasing eachother in circles so fast they were a blur. After hours of this and no signs of stopping I pulled the most aggressive and tossed it in my 750. The rays didn't get him the first night so the following night the other 2 went in.

Coclusion - The Dorado must have saw the 180 as a territory they could run and in turn fought for it. When moved to the 750 with a big Aro, a monster Brycon, smaller brycon (still bigger then the Dorado) and a huge lemon finned barb, all of a sudden the Dorado were the smallest in the tank and now shoal together happily. No issues since the move. Priceless to see the aggressive Dorado catch first sight of the monster Brycon and transform from the aggressor to a puddy cat.

The Aimara will be added once he puts on some more size as the rays roughed him up last attempt.
