is this a bad idea

Seems like a good deal.. tanks can last much longer than that.. I got a 300 gal with stand for $1150 used.. keep in mind you will need like 4 guys to move the thing with damaging it

I have a 55 someone else threw out when I was 7. I'm 20 now. It has the original seals, and they are fine. If it looks in order I wouldn't worry about a 10 yr. old tank.

I hope you have a truck and a bunch of friends. The empty tank alone will weigh over 350 lbs., and be 6' long and over 2' wide and tall. You might get away with a minivan and 4 guys, but you'd probably need to make a 2nd trip to get the stand. Take a lot of old sheets/blankets and some twine to wrap the tank in, so you don't damage it en route. A dolly might be a good idea too, it's hard for more than 2 people to carry a tank through doorways and up and down stairs.

The tank & setup will weigh almost 2 tons when full of water. I hope you have a house that can handle it.

I got a basement We have to turn it on its side to fit through the door got me my dad and my uncle so far we need over 6ft truck or u think six foot would be fine

3 guys is probably enough, I wouldn't worry about the 6' bed. You can put the tank in diagonally. Wrap it well! You almost for sure won't be able to carry the tank and stand in one go. You can slide it down into your basement like a sled if you tie a blanket to the bottom of the tank. Getting back up will be a horror, though.
