So ive had this guy (i think its a male) for about 3 months now. When i got him he was 2 inches at most, and is now 5.5 (i took him out and measured him real quick 2 days ago). Seems like some real quick growing for a belly crawler which supposedly max out at 6 inches from what ive read. He eats bloodworms, mysis, mealworms, and hikari carnivore pellets readily. He looks like a belly crawler but ive never had it confirmed. His super fast growth is weird though that he could go from 2 inches to his adult size in just 3 months...are there any larger growing species that look similar to belly crawlers that he could be? Possible hybrid? Or is this just how belly crawlers are? Here are some pics! (Hes hard to get clear pics of but i tried)

Yes, especially if it spends most of time on it's belly.

They definately get larger then 6 inch. My aqualog lists males as getting to 9 inches and females to about 7 inches. Here is a pic of mine after just over 1 yr. from being purchased at a tiny size. Measured at 7 3/4 inches total length.

It probably grew fast because it also got to eat a large number of convict fry....though a number of young cons actually managed to survive and grow up with him in the tank. But my tank leaked and the fish went temporarily into totes. One of the totes, that also had the pike amongst a number of fish went 'bad', so i lost him. Had I had him longer, it is quite conceivable he would have grown considerably larger.
