i was going between the image listed above and primitivefishes website and thought it looked similar to the type III, but didnt want to post without knowing. very cool fish...if i had the room i would love to find one! duh...what gar enthusiast wouldnt!?
 
I agree with Jordon looks like a croc type III
 
It looks more like the same fish on Primitivefishes.. The side of the tank looks the same.. Check the 1st pic..on primitivefishes..the gar in the background and this one.. very similar..or the same..

yup, right now (outside of the wild, as far as we know) these individuals are Shedd are the only Croc III gars. quite the distinctive look to them too--

demjor, i thought one of the sponsers was selling croc gars for 300 here in the classifieds. it was on there list......

Mike at H2O custom aquatics has a Type 1 (Platostomus X spatula) currently.. I would personally buy it myself but I can not justify a pet fish or 500$ for basically a fin clipping and a blood draw.
