Hey guys, at my lfs i found this guy mixed in with a couple of africans, the place knows there stuff but were actually given this guy with a bunch of random cichlids and weren't to sure what it was its still around 2inch and was going for $15 and i was thinking about picking him up, ive never had a dovii before and was wondering if this little fella looked nice and if it was worth the price..i quite like it, but sort of wanted an oppinion from the experts i guess.
So I was just wondering what you guys thought.
Sorry about the quality, i just had to snap a couple of random shots with my phone so its pretty blurry.

that is 100% female dovii

Thanks heaps, do you think its worth it if i get it ?? Ive never had one, but have been really interested in them lately and it was pure coincidence that i happen to see one just today cause in my area they arnt common, its sort of rare. And how can you tell its a female at such a young age?

you see my avatar bro I know my dovii ;) but you can tell by speckling on the gill plates as well as throughout the body. Males have a very distinct look compared to the females

here is a link for reference M on top F on bottom pic.... just do a google search for Dovii pics and you will clearly see the difference. That is one think I love about Dovii is the ability to sex at a very young and small size

I would buy it if you got the space. See if they'll lower the price since they don't know what it is. Are Dovii common in Australia?

Yeah i was thinking about that to, like getting them to lower the price.. i've sort of got a pretty good relationship with the shop owner and hopefully he brings it down even just a little, And within the next week or two im hopefully getting a new 6fter so the whole coincidence has sort of added. And i'm not sure about the other Aussie members here, really depends on where you are i guess, but for me dovii arn't common, maybe the second one ive seen, and the last one wasn't a juvii like this one.

I asked this once before, I will just ask again... Why is this in the hybrids section? Mods?
