My buddies aunt gave this JD to me. She didnt like him since he killed her other fish.....she likes tiny fish and this guy once was tiny. he is in the 5-6" range now. she had him alone in a 40g and he didnt even hardly move. I told her I would take him almost a year ago. So finally she gave him up to me and I was looking at him thinking hes not like any JD I've had. I dont know much about the EBJD's except that their not cheap.

looks like very dark one

Any more pics? I have seen some EB's that look like that. When given good food and clean water, they color up nice.

Also, Blue Gene JD's look identical to regular JD's. There is no way to tell if a regular looking JD carries the blue gene unless you breed it to another BG or an EB and see if you have blue fry.

The allele for the EB trait is recessive (based on what I've read, anyway), so unless the fish has 2 EB alleles, it will exhibit the standard phenotype.

its a beautiful JD.
