Is this a four line cat?

Pimelodus is a very large and taxonomically messy genus with half of the described species almost never seen and, moreover, some believe that there are more undescribed species in that genus in the wild than there are described: http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/genus.php?genus_id=101#653 There are many in there that look much alike too.

It appears yours is P. blochii - see pic #2 of a juvi, looks very close to yours http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=653 but then if you look at all the pics, you will notice great variability. I think this Cat-eLog entry needs to be re-worked.

But for all intents and purposes, yours looks like several of mine and I treat them as P. blochii until I know better. Aka 4-line pim, which also confuses me, as I'd apply this common name to P. tetramerus with their clearly defined 4 white bands, not blochii.
