Well im getting interested in bigger lizard species now, and im just wondering if this is a good deal that i saw on kijiji
i'll translate it because its in french because its a Montreal ad.

"He is offering two "Varanio Indicus", 1 is about a year and the other is about 2 years, the bigger one is missing a bit of its tail and that this a probable couple.
they eat well but are not good for handleing because they are nervous.
He is asking 150 for the 2, and you cnat just buy one.
and for 150 he will also include the terrarium 4'x2'x2'."

its kinda a really far drive but its a really good price so i don't know yet...

lol i was like french :nilly: i cant even do spanish :nilly:

seems like a good deal to me wait for var to post though

no,
if there a year they should be alot bigger plus a 4x2x2 wont last long if properly cared for. Most monitors grow 2/3 there adult size when taken care of properly. Mangroves are all wild caught and can be anywhere from 3 to 5 ft as adults depending on local which they were caught plus They will need a way larger cage for 2 with a lot of height and a large pool to swim in.
the intel cost of an animal has little to due with the future care of the animal, large WC monitors can cost anywhere from $12 to $500 but you know how much money it will cost for housing and feeding compared to smaller species. You would end up spending hundreds if not thousands every year on housing and feeding while a smaller CB ackie or other draft may cost 150 to 1500 but everything from feeding and housing costs ten times less.

For example every few months i spend a good 300 on feeding but i buy everything wholesale and most of my cages cost anywhere from 200 to 300 to build but there only temp ones. I am planning on getting a 12x24x8 shed built that will cost 2500+ with all electricity done not including what im going to be making in there.
most people think a min cage for an animal is just 1.5 to 2 the animals length and half or it length wide for a cage but the fact is that's not true. Most large monitors travel a large distance everyday to find food, dig burrows, look for mates, etc so they need lots of room to be comfortable.
The best thing to due for anyone looking to get a monitor should be to see what is the largest cage they can build or have built then decide on what species to get after they researched the specific needs of that animal.
also mangroves sell for around 65 to 100 each anyways
