Is this a good deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is if you look at the cost of the same tank new. 220 gallon dual overflow would be around $1500. However the tank is used. $2 a gallon would be more than I would normally pay. $350 I would say is fair. $250 I would take it no question

man no good (decent?) deals like thisninn my area. nothing but small tanks around here :(. yea price wise it's a decent deal you could and should negotiate a lower price... but compared to new @ $1450 from the last shop I asked for the same set up. $500 is not bad.

its not bad. people around my parts generally are trying to get that much for a 125 or 150 which is stupid. i would offer them 350 then 4 if they play hardball.

Not a "bad" deal, but I would ask them the age of the tank for sure. One thing I have found in my past experience is that big glass tanks which have any real age to them don't like to be moved a whole lot and seam leaks happen easier as a big glass tank ages and is moved. With the wood grain trim and what looks to be lack of factory center brace it may have some real age to it so try to find out how old it is first.

I would say thats a good deal for sure.

It really depends on your area. If you don't see many large tanks around where you live, then it's probably a pretty good deal, but you should still negotiate to a lower price, if possible. If you see large tanks pop up regularly, then I would say the price is a bit high.

I paid $300 for my 200g with sump and gravel. Mine is only drilled on one side though but has what looks like the same style brace on top and wood grain boarders. I would offer $300 then go up. He is probably asking $550 knowing he will get lower offers.

I would ask as to their experience resealing tanks. I wouldn't be amped to have a 240 in my house resealed by a first timer
