I found a listing on craigslist that had this 180 being sold with all livestock for $450.
here's the ad:

180 gallon reef ready tank. All glass. Sump, 4 sets of 7" socks. 1480 gph pump, also included is an ATO system. Ehiem 300 watt heater, another 300 watt heater. Stand. Sand substrate, large amount of holey rock. 2 large pieces of driftwood. 2 72" beamswork led lights. Beamswork LED 1W 6500K HI Lumen Aquarium Light Freshwater Plant (DHL 72 6500K)
I will include all livestock. 2 Large oscars, both over 10". A large banded leparanus, large lace cat. One large channel cat. 2 large Bala sharks. 2 10+" plecos. The rest is full of cichlids. At least 45-50. 5 parrots I believe, two of which are king Kong, one south Texas cichlid, a dozen or so convicts, doz or so yellow labs, doz or so OB cichlids and some other misc. If you do not wish to have the fish included, I will need enough time from your purchase to move the fish to another home/pet store as I will not flush them.

I wanna buy the tank just to rehome all the fish for a bit of cash back, but $450 is hard to come by without having a kinda high paying job. I also want to cheap out and remove some stuff, then negotiate. what should I do? and you think I could get the whole thing for like $100 then pay $100 every two months? My parents might actually pay up once I show them how much an empty 180 costs with no equipment. I will be rehoming the fish, probably selling or giving to lfs, don't worry, I'll sell starting at most problematic fish then going to least problematic, so If I give too many fish and no stores accept them for money or store credit I won't have to worry about overstocking as much as the guy before.

last question, what would you price the fish and maybe equipment at? I hope you understand that If I can buy this tank i'll be scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel, so I need to make the most money possible back.

If the tank is in good shape its probably sold already, thats a good deal.

It's been up for a month and nothing says it's been sold. but I'll have to keep on refreshing my email. I really want this tank!

Sounds like a great deal. A new glass 180 is like $1,200 alone so.....

I got my 1st 125 from Craigslist for 200
My 2nd 125 from Offer Up for 400, but it's a brand new never used tank.
Both came with lights but no filtration or decor, just tank, stand, lights, lids

Keep looking don't settle for the first thing you see. My roommate got a 125gal gal for $100 tank, stand, lights, sand and decor rocks
Also we got a free corner 50gal.
75gal tank, stand, with built into the tank sump for $50
46bowfront complete tank, stand, filter, light, heater, gravel, lids for $50 plus a free 50gal Hexagon tank

So keep looking, Craigslist, Offer Up, Let go you may find a better deal.

Or even better yet move to SoCal, seems like every week there is another massive tank from there on sale for pennies on the dollar of new cost.

check my other thread on this 180 and me wanting to sell the majority of things inside the tank. there you can see and ask how i'll save money on that and whatnot.

I'd say get it. I reckon that you could get about half of you money back or more then half by selling off all of those fish. Those african cichlids, depending on which ones are there they could be worth a pretty penny. The chances of any of them being rare is not likely though...

I would, but as I said on another thread, the seller won't reply and it's too much money for my parents to let me get it.

Ahh yes, this was your most recent thread or post I saw so I answered it first. I saw you posted a couple of threads about those tanks and such. I hadn't seen the other posts before I posted here.
Well man, here's what you do. You use bargaining to try to get what you want. Are there any bad habits you have that you parents hate? Make a deal to stop said habit for a month or so for X amount to go towards the tank.
Room a mess? Make a deal to clean it for X amount.
Bad grades? Deal to raise them for X amount. Don't do this if you can't bring them up.
Pull all of what you can do and put it together into an essay outlining the benefits that could come from you getting the tank. If you have any money yourself then that helps a lot.
If they say no then don't push them to get it still.

This only applies if you can get the seller to respond.

already tried, we just bought a house too, horrible timing for a deal like this to pop up. I got lucky to get $17 out of my dad for the 75. (I have $83 in leftover birthday money, only needed $17 more for that sweet 75)
