a planet where bichirs exists
my bichirs diet:

Mon- pellets (about 3)
tues-pellets (about 1.5)
weds-fast
trus-Frozen(half a cube)
fri-pellets(about 1)
sat-fast
sun: Frozen (half a cube)

How many polypterus and how big are each of them?
How big is the tank?
What kind of frozen?

Vary the kind of pellets and frozen food type.
Fasting is good but if they are small maybe fast tham just once a week.
Give them earthworms and some hiding places in the tank.

Maybe add some cockle and bloodworm.

Keep it a varied diet!
