i got a magnum 350 canister filter. is it a good brand for a 35g tank?? i got as a gift from my father and the recent owner "told me" he had salt water and he used this filter and i doubt it. cuz none of my fish had died. any advice i would be greatly appreciated. thanks:D

If it works, I'd say its good. Probably should have cleaned it up from the saltwater before use, but if you aren't having problems then its probably ok.

IMO magnums are great filters, they put out a lot of flow and they keep my tanks clear. And just because it was used for saltwater doesn't mean it would kill your fish :screwy:

You should be fine with that on a 35 gal tank. It's rated for tanks up to 100 gal. (as long as it works right!!)

Yes they work very well. My cousin had one and his worked very well.
