Hey everyone

lately i have been considering replanting my 150 gallon piranha tank with live plants instead of fake. And while i have been figuring out the lighting for it i realised that my wet / dry filter would take too much CO2 out of the water. I was thinking to replenish the CO2 in the water after it goes through the wet/dry i could have a DIY CO2 system adding CO2 in the pump chamber (could i make it release the co2 near the intake of the pump to dissolve it in the water perhaps? the pump would pull it in with the water and hopefully dissolve it). Would this work? id imagine it would make the CO2 levels in the tank higher than in the sump. there would be little to no surface agitation in the main tank

the plants ill be growing wouldn't normaly need CO2 suppmentation but they probably need a little extra CO2 with the wet/dry taking it all out of the water

would this work?

why not just do it with out co2?

if you are not adding co2 gas the wet dry wont take out all the co2 in the water. fish really dont add a noticeable amount of co2. the wet dry will just being the water in equilibrium with the air. some amount of co2 in the water as in the air.

now sure how hard they are on plants you might just be sticking to anubias java ferns and other hardy plants that you really dont have to have add co2.
