Hi, this is my first time here! :)

I've had this aquarium for over a year now and it's done me proud! It's leaked a few times from overfilling it, but I've learned now how to prevent that from happening.

Now, I am awesome with my fish... I always keep them alive and take care of my tank - I change the water regularly, wipe off any algae (which is rare, since the tank is in a darker area), feed them every day, etc. My dad the other day was helping me clean the tank and used 409 to wipe it out - I was sick and didn't realize what he had done until it was too late. Now all my fish, excluding my little crab Krabby, are dead. :(

SO NOW, I'm thinking of converting it to a salt-water tank. Krabby was relocated to my 20-gallon tank and is thriving well in it, so I can start all over with the tank linked-to above.

My main question is: is the tank adequate for a salt-water environment? The bulb that came with it was replaced quite some time ago with this cool half-blue, half-white fluorescent bulb, but the bulb only seems to provide direct lighting to 75% of the tank. The bulb is quite bright, so I don't think there will be any problems with that. I'm not sure if the filter is powerful enough, so I might have to buy a new one... what do you guys think? I also have a small heater that warms the water by 5 degrees, but I'm not sure if I'll need a new one. Any equipment advice?

I've been reading all about these "nano" salt water tanks and saw someone using my tank for their own, so I'm hoping it's a good tank to use. I'm planning on housing some coral, live sand, and perhaps one clownfish (OH NOZ! NO FISH ALLOWED IN A >20 SALT WATER TANK! SHOOT HIM!), so I want everyone's opinions! :) If you need me to clarify anything, I'd be happy to.

Thank you in advance!

Sorry man but each clown fish needs ATLEAST 20 gallons for himself. Lemme think of a better fish for it. I'll post back soon.

Ah, I read that a lot, but I also read that they're fine in smaller tanks. There's so much conflicting information when it comes to these nano tanks. When I went to the fish store today (a mom and pop shop which is very popular in our area), they were telling me a single clownfish would be fine.

But what about the tank? What's your opinion on it?

Yeah, little too small you'll probably need a 20 watt heater for marine tanks.
