Hey people,

I saw an ad for an acrylic 180 gallon with hood and stand. The aquarium is ok. Probably 7/10. The hood is pretty much junk. It's warped from water damage. The stand is okay. Structurally stabe, but there's scratches (his dog chewed up some areas). The seller is including a fluval fx5 along with the sale. He wants $350 for the whole thing. I think the tank is half inch thick. Is this a good deal considering the stand and hood are in poor condition. Thanks for all your feedbacks. Much appreciated.

As long as you're ok if you have to buff the acrylic I'd go for it. I'm not sure what the market is like over there, but here in the DC area, I JUMPED on a 180 glass tank with factory made black stand for $450 (I think it was $450.... might have been more actually). I would have flipped out if he'd thrown in an FX5.

If the tank's in good shape, I say go for it. Posting pics here couldn't hurt though, if you want a more thorough opinion on the condition of the acrylic.

+1 it also depends if your wantin this tank to be a good lookin show peice if the stand is in bad shape then that would decrease the amount i personally would pay

I would say its a fair price. I could care less about the dents and scratches. Those things are fixable. Thats just me.

,

buff out the scratches, and buy a new hood. for that price on a tank + a fx5 id go for it. Your saving a nice chunk of change, so who cares if you need to clean it up a little.

Fair price anywhere but socal.

I agree with everyone. Fair price. Also, its nice sometimes to put a little TLC into something. It makes it your own. Go for it!

Go for it, sounds like a good deal to me. Always try to haggle the price down though! ;)
