Whats up to every one out there in the wild world of fish and all things that swim. I just got my first, what I consider real tank, a 100gal 15x18x18.5 and I am having the worst time on trying to figure out what to stock it with. I'm going fresh water and trying to not go with the aggresive fish but more of a variety and I like the exotics. Probaly a few days after I got my tank I came home and got on line and stumbled across the fresh water stingrays, but already looking at the sizes that they come in and grown to I knew I was headed for a delima. I also found a real cool web site that makes a real 3D back ground that goes inside your tank which would take up more space from the ray if I got one. The web site have some real cool stuff check it out. Well my question to all you pros in the game would be is this list of fish that I came up with a good mix? Oh, buy the way it took me up until 2:30a.m. in the morning making it because once I got going I just could not stop until I had a final list of what I thought would make a kick ass tank. First lets just say we had room for the stingray a smaller sized motoro, 1 glass knifefish, 1 black ghost knifefish, 1 threadfin geophagus, 1 denison barb, 1 whiptail, 1 siamese alge eater, 1 golden alge eater, and 1 eel a more non aggresive one if they exist. 2 brichardi cichlid albino, 1 or 2 imperial zebra plecos or king tiger plecos, 3 emerald catfish, 3 clown loach, 3 cherry barb, and 3 albino cherry barb. I was going to use some type of smooth gravel for the bottom or should I go with sand and a 200gal to 250gal wet dry filter with the needed assecories. Should I do plants, yes or no with this crowd? I think thats it for now. I'm looking forward to all your feedback, thanks.

21.65 gallons

Your list would cause even a real 100 gallon tank to be severely overstocked. You say "smaller sized motoro" like you think it won't grow.

You say, "I go with sand and a 200gal to 250gal wet dry filter with the needed assecories." So you were going to use a filter that would be at least double the volume of your tank?

I think I read about this in a book of nursery rhymes. The story was about TROLLS.

For a 100G, every fish in red wont work. The green ones will. The yellow ones are inbetween.

Geophagus require schools, as do barbs. Unless you have a planted tank, there is no need for a SAE.
