My tank just finally cycled and this brown stuff started growing on my centerpiece not the glass or anything. What do ya think?ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1369072215.356911.jpg

It took almost two months and I had fish in there also. I was not informed of anything when I ordered my bass like a fool so its been a long ride.

i'm guessing it's good to add fish now.

That was my problem lol I ordered the fish before I learned to cycle its been two months of dedicated WC and constant api tests. Finally its all over. I was just wondering if a little brown algae is telling me the waters good. I can tell from the tests its good but this would just be a bonus lol. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 20 and falling cause of Pothos :)

Looks like brown alge to me, and thats telling me your tank is cycled. I'm guessing you don't scrub your center piece when you do a water change..........

I posted a thread with a similar question a while back. Its diatoms, they are harmless, and often come about when cycling a tank. Just scrub em off next water change.

Yeah I never touch any decor just stirr up the sand a bit. Can I leave it? It looks kinda natural cause that wood is fake ya know. I dont mind it as long as its not on the glass. that I do wipe down
