Is this a good thing?

My tank just finally cycled and this brown stuff started growing on my centerpiece not the glass or anything. What do ya think?

It took almost two months and I had fish in there also. I was not informed of anything when I ordered my bass like a fool so its been a long ride.

That was my problem lol I ordered the fish before I learned to cycle its been two months of dedicated WC and constant api tests. Finally its all over. I was just wondering if a little brown algae is telling me the waters good. I can tell from the tests its good but this would just be a bonus lol. Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 20 and falling cause of Pothos

Looks like brown alge to me, and thats telling me your tank is cycled. I'm guessing you don't scrub your center piece when you do a water change..........

I posted a thread with a similar question a while back. Its diatoms, they are harmless, and often come about when cycling a tank. Just scrub em off next water change.

Yeah I never touch any decor just stirr up the sand a bit. Can I leave it? It looks kinda natural cause that wood is fake ya know. I dont mind it as long as its not on the glass. that I do wipe down
