Should I trade my 20" Red tail catfish for a baby black arowana???

My Red tail is getting too big for my tank so i was thinking of trading it at the pet store by my place who is selling the baby black aro.. they said that they are willing to trade..

should i???

At 2-3 inches I dont think it is a good deal, but your probably not going to get a better deal at a lfs. Arowanas are very delicate(especially when from a lfs), and your taking a gamble.
 
That is something you should not even think about. As your catfish gets any bigger, It will go down in value
 
yea big RTC's arnt worth much since they are more of a liability if you can't house them, good trade if you ask me

RTC is nice.. but those LFS are probably gonna try to rip another guy off who might be interested in your cat..


Also.. 2-3 baby blk are very risky.... u'll never know if they will just die on you....


As for the baby blk.... how much are they selling it in store???? 80? or 35..
Because Rich at infinite aquatics selling his blks for $35 bucks each.. its a bit of a drive.. but you'll def earn it back.... Rich is in 91790 btw.. West Covina area...

if u do feel u should trade it... get ready for a good breeder tank..
