is this a hybrid?

he likes to stay near the top of the tank with his tail touching the surface and his head almost straight down...sometimes he'll dart after some of the smaller fish in the tank

Almost reminds me of a dimidiochromis kiwinge, but not at the same time, almost as if it is hybridized with something else.

Very interesting, looks like something I've seen before but I'd say its a hybrid...

Was flipping through the newest Dr Foster and Smith catalog and on page 106 there is a fish identical to yours. Of course I can't find a listing of species they use in their catalogs to see what it is :/

LOL...the mystery continues..I still have no idea....his shape is similar to the johnstoni for sure.
