okay... no rush.. maybe someone can give you better clue on the terror but i doubt there is any other way on the midas.. both are beauties by the way..:D

The Terror is stunning, and a male most likely.
But the midas is to young to tell but venting. You can also just take the fish out of the tank and take a pic..

Now why do you think this is a male? Everyone said girl on the one I posted and other than the flash washing out the colors I cannot see any difference: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227109. Can you look at that thread and let me know your opinion as well?

The thing that indicates this is a male .. is the amount of speckling and color... and longer finnage.. i just looked at yours and i have to think yours is a female.. plainer and duller in color... but a gorgeous looking female.. females just dont skimmer and glimmer... like the males and they are as a rule not as large.. their head is slightly different.... but it is the shades of color and the intenseness of color that indicates m/f..Males are generally larger and develop a nuchal hump with age and have more flowing longer pointed fins. Females have less contrast in color and are more "plump" and round in shape.

Males will be larger, with a longer, more pointed dorsal fin.
Males also will develop a fatty lump on the head, it's not always large, but it may become noticeable.

Males: brighter, longer fins, mature males get a hump on head Females: duller, rounder fins, smaller in size to sum it up... but the only true way to know for sure ... is venting..

Thanks everyone.
I may try venting once the Midas gets comfortable with his environment.

Here is a pic of my female GT.
Notice how round her body is, and how rounded her fins are.
I can also get close enough to see her vents and she has a rounded tube that points to the rear.

Hope this helps.

Now watch her turn out to me a male.
