I picked up a Con from a guy this week and he had 1 other CA/SA cichlid along with his Africans. He said he thinks its a Nicaraguan cichlid but was not sure.

It looks to be about 4-4.5".

Can someone please identify the fish?

Yeah it was not very appealing or I would have picked it up as well. I searched for pics to identify it but they were much more colorful.

Could it be diet or stress related? He was tearing down his tank to convert to a reef. So all of the plants and rocks were removed.

My male at about 6"

Wow there is no comparison. Nice fish!

Like most of my pics, this one is pretty poorly composed... but it captures my Nics' colors quite well...

It's been my experience that Nics won't color up much unless they are VERY relaxed in their surroundings... and it still takes quite awhile for their color to come on. They just are not one of those fish that you toss in a tank and look great a week later.

The female in this picture did not POP until I put the two of them in a tank that they control, so I'm guessing that the Nic in your pic might even be a good specimen... but there's no way to be sure unless you treat it right for awhile.

probably there's some other fish is dominant over yours?
it happen to mine, from blue to pale white literally
