Well my friend got a so called "black ear paroon shark" Is this really a paroon? He told me that the guy there said it was the short bodied one and the regular paroons were 40 bucks but like 6 inches. He got it for 8 bucks. Was this a good deal for him? Im going to quarantine it for him. Im gonna get better pics once he is acclimated and in the tank

Im actually very excited for you! I've been trying to find this species for a while now, but to no avail. Even though its native to here, but no LFS's have it. Just P. Gigas, P. Sanitwongsei, and P. Hypophthalmus.

Take care of that little buddy man, because in my eyes, you truly found a needle in a haystack.

My god, I think you have a Black Ear Catfish! Pangasius Larnaudii.

That species is pretty rare, even for Thailand!

Correct;)

Funny...I saw some a few months ago being offered all around here in SoCal. I'm surprised that P. Gigas is available...I thought that one would be a hard one to come by.

well a vendor had a mix of black ears in with some id sharks but there was only like 10 that where black ears....... my lfs has had black ears one or 2 times before and only a few theres where around foot to a foot and a half in a 12' 3' 3' Dispaly tank and selling them for 300 ea.... they dont have any now and idk if they will ever again........ they are one of the rarer types of pangius and very good looking even if they lose there black ear markings......

He has like 10 of them should i get more? Its has already gone pretty bad with this one so i was netting him out and i forgot about how the side fins have he bone thing right there so it got caught in the net. I tried to cut the net without to much damage to no avail so i cut part of the bone off. Will it heal? To let him heal i put some eggcrate to seperate him and someone how he got around and now has a red mark right under his gill plate on one side. Is this bad?
