Had this 20.5"-21" poly for about 2 weeks now, and started keeping for under 2 years. So this is still new to me. So much still to learn.

For people that have a lot of identification knowledge or has/still own a pbb. Is this a definitive poly bichir bichir? Please explain why if possible. Thanks again.

I've owned these three below. Noted my differences between them.

PBB : More Elongated and wider head, thicker bulkier body, seems as if the pectoral fins are a little larger, longer dual markings up top.

Captive Bred : more faded markings, smaller thinner head, body is not as bulky, tail usually not as long. Eyes can be more bug eye.

Wild Nigerian Lap : head size medium sized, and in between pbb and cb. Markings show up more than cb, but less pronounced as pbb. Body size is not as bulky as pbb. Tail length is more pronounced than a cb. It's pretty in between the cb and pbb on ever aspect.

From my overall assessment for the major visual difference of a PBB versus the other two is the much bulkier frame, larger length, crisper markings, and more elongated head. Can somebody include there inputs here?

You've touched on the points that help me ID them, though I'm fairly new to it as well. But I feel pbb are pretty easy to tell apart, I'd say yours is one for sure.

Looks like one of my old PBB!

I thought I had all your old PBBs?? :) .... still with me.
What I was saying was it resembles one of the PBBs I had. Not saying it's the exact fish.
