Is this a peacock bass?

I bought this fish advertised as a african cichlid, but I don't think it is. Can you tell me what it is?

Looking at the picture I think somekind of native. Here is another shot. His mouth is pretty large.

After looking in the Native section I think I have found it to be a Lepomis cyanellus, green sunfish. Well I bought a green sunfish for 2.99.

I kind of hoped it was a peacock bass. I think I might get one though eventually.

You got a Green Sunfish. They come with feeders from time to time. I've gooten some for 25 cents a few times.

Yea I have feed my P bass these a couple of times mixed up with the feeders.

good job though, i always look for random oddballs at the lfs ect.

It will get big and show some nice colors.

I saw one for sale at a lfs the other day. I'll wait and catch a couple this summer for a native tank.
