Is this a Perruno???

Hi...I'm new to this list & I see pictures posted of Perruno
Catfish but they don't look like my catfish. I was told when
it was given to me it was a Perruno, I was also told it would grow slow.........!! That must of been a joke! It was only a
few inches & I swear it grew an inch a wk. Anyway, it quickly outgrew my 55, so I got a 125 but he is to big for that, as well. He is now & has been for the last 1 1/2 yrs appx. 2 ft.

it looks like a super fat catfish!!! that is awesome, no matter who flames you on tank size, that is awesome!!! it makes you marvel at his size. i dunno about species, some sort of achara if that helps? i just thought id share my input on the cat himself!!!

Looks alot like one I used to have, he was only 7" though... I'd say yes but don't hold me to it.

He hasn't been 7" for a long time)
I have tried to find pictures on the internet & I have seen some that
do suggest he is a Perruno.......but I can't be sure. What I am sure
of is he is to big for my tank & need to find a home for him where he will be more comfortable.

These are old pictures....he is actually bigger than that now.

No, not a Perruno, Leiarius marmoratus is what you have there, still a great looking fish though.
