hmm....maybe Hemiloricaria eigenmanni? its the wider tail that's been confusing me. oh well, thought it was something a little more exotic but when the general name is common whiptail i guess not so much. at least it looks cool

Definitely not a Pseudohemiodon. Looks more like a Spatuloricaria, but difficult to say for sure from the pics. Try to get some in tank pics once it settles in.
