Hey guys i have used this type of wet/dry sump for awhile now and it seems to work pretty well.

Pics probably explain it better than i ever could!

Media is seperated from the pump and heater chamber by eggcrate and perspex leaving a about an inch gap on the bottom with the perspex.

This sump is 3x2x1.5 and is full of media to about 2 inches off the drip plates (alot of media) with a 7500 litre/hr pump.

Cheers

The water level is too high in the sump. Decrease it b/c the media should be above the water level or only a little bit of it submerged.

That pic was just with a little bit of media, it is now full up to about 2 inches off the bottom of the drip plate (the water streams down 2 inches until it hits media).

Thx for the replies

it looks ok to me like said above media is kinda low or you need more. obviously its not the prettiest thing but all that matters is how it preforms. you should be better able to judge its performance then we can just from the pics.

looks good to mee.. specially since u added more media
