Ok so in general, my pygos are active when I turn off the lights. Usually when the lights are on, they are less active usually still, fights occassionally, and basically just chilling. And then once I turn the lights off, they begin to lurk the tank and extremely active. But for the past 3 days, they are very still and just stay in place and just stare at me. They still occasionally fight for territory but mostly stay static. Is this a problem? Previously the temp was at around 83-85 but now at 78-80 due to the cool down in the weather. Thoughts ? Thanks guys!

Did a wc 1 week ago. Water is at around 30 ppm, 7-7.2 pH, 0ammonia. Possibly could Be the temp drop...well could be the pygos getting more comfortable?

As long as ur parameters are in check and there are no visible signs of deterioration then they should be fine. But if their like really less active to the point their lethargic and barely move and float then somethings wrong...

Just came home after class, kinda sneaked into see their activity. They were active but once they saw me they just grouped and just stared at me. I think they just curious about me and who in the world I am. The are not lethargic. They swim around here and there and come back to the rest of the pack. the nitrite is 0, ammonia is 0, ph is 7-7.2, and nitrate is around 30-32ppm. I am going to do another wc as soon as this week ends. I dont want to startle them again.

Possible. What size tank, how many Fish, what species of pygo? Whats the ppm for nitrite? How long have you had them in this tank?

I got a 80 gallon tank with 11 x 3-4" pygo nattereri. I had them for about 1 month in this tank. They were readily active but just seem to calm down a little bit now.

Actually, I realized it's because they are all so full to be moving.. They have food coma therefore do not feel like moving unless they have too.. I had two 4-5" kois from petco which were housed in a 100G tank. Both are gone and the pygo bellies are about to explode.

lol I understand how that goes man. Whats the dimensions of that tank? Are they all red bellies?

its roughly give or take 55" x 16" x 17" or something like that. Im too lazy to do an exactly measurement but yeah its nice for now will have to upgrade as soon as i find a good deal on a new 160-200g tank. btw, yes they are all natts. No mixed shoal here. Lol i think they are disgesting now, back to a lot of movement even in the light... I can tell that they are getting used to me as well as the their new home. A lot of dw, plants, and bw are helping the process smooth for them. Manyof them are nipping for territory tho I think..
