Setting up a small 22 gallon long, rimless bookshelf tank for a family member. It’s 36x12x12 inches. The spot she chose is a bit narrow and the long vertical panels are floating and unsupported. Is this a problem or is it okay if just the base is supported?

Also, there a tiny bit of a hump near the center of the tank so the ends of the tank don’t sit flush on the shelf. Would it be okay if I just put a yoga mat underneath to even it out or would it cause a hotspot?

IMO the yoga mat does a lot to disperse the load. But not enough.

Can you get cut a piece of 1/2" plywood the size of the footprint, and put that under the yoga mat?

Yeah, I figured as much but I don’t come out this way much so was trying to rush it and get it done.

It’s probably better to be prudent and do it right but now I gotta make another 2 hour trip :wall:

thx all
