I bought 10 small discus for 10 bucks each at a swap meet a couple years ago. They kept getting sick and dying, they would eat fine but would stay skinny. I treated for worms and parasites with several different treatments. Only one survived and years later, is healthy. Grew out in a 225 but now lives with some tetras and stuff in a 45 gallon tank. Think I should sell him so he can go be with some other discs somewhere.

How much should I ask for him? Probably five or six inches. And what Do I label it? Blue turquoise?

I see you have not gotten any responses...
I don't get into "names" or prices. However, it looks like a nice fish.
No indication is given of its size, and the single photo does not show it well (a full side view, and a front view would have been desirable). However, the proportion eye size-to overall size looks good (i.e, not stunted or anything like that), it does not look too skinny or darkened, is swimming in correct posture (not head down, etc.), and its fins are fully extended as if it is happy.
I would say it is a nice fish. Myself, I prefer wild-color types in both discus and angels. Actually in all fish.
Good luck, whatever you decide to do with it.

Thanks for the response. I prefer the wild-type too, and kinda always thought this guy was "close enough" to wild type that it didn't bother me. All of my other fish I keep in all my tanks are wild type except for one or two oddballs.

The fish is five or six inches. I was thinking like $100 but I might be asking too much.

All of this is extremely important to a experienced Discus hobbyist or a breeder.
I agree the Discus looks good.
