Is this a red fin Borleyi?

Just snagged this guy out of a mixed hap tank at the LFS and im 99% sure its a male borleyi but since it was in a mixed tank i just wanted to check with you guys!

I would say no. But still a nice fish. Mine doesn't have the white tipped dorsal

It doesn't look like the most common collection point - "Red fin", but it could be one of the less common collection points. It also could be a hybrid. I would not use it as a breeder, but it could be a good addition to the appropriate All-Male Malawi tank.

I also have to agree it can be a hybrid. The 2 Red Fin Borleyis, the tips of the dorsal fins are more light bluish instead of white.

Haha once I got home from I looked and my full grown male has orangish white tipped dorsal and anal fins. The body shape is completely different than yours

plenty of haps have blue faces and red bodies, its more likely to be another species than a hybrid but I guess it could be a hybrid. its a great looking fish either way

Here is a pic of my guy, who I know is a borleyi...they do look similar but there are subtle differences
