Is this a redhook?? true redhook?

I was given this as a redhook from someone on craigslist. It looks like myleus schomburgki without the black bar. I was thinking it could be a young redhook, but the young ones I've seen before have the whole hook.

nah he has a more elongated jaw... he has the redhook looks just a shorter orange hook.
 
true redhooks develop the hook at a pretty young age, usually by the time they are 2" long, im sorry to say that yours is not a true redhook (Myleus rubripinnis)
 
nah he doesn't have the sd shape he has the redhook shape.. can he be nipped?? maybe
 
remember that there are several species of silver dollar, ours doesn't look like you everyday run of the mill redfin metynnis, but it also does not look like any of the myleus species i am aware of
 
hmm... yeah you got a point... a friend on facebook suggested a young metynnis mola?? I don't think so, what do you think?? Can anyone id this guy? better pics tommrow.

how big is it? mola is a definite possibility
