So one of my pet peeves is people ragging on President Obama for things that he honestly has no influence over. I think people sometimes forget the difference between a President and a dictator. I'll give you an example of what I mean.
While living in Alaska as a tour guide this past summer running jeep tours we regularly went into British Columbia. The road we ran had some road work being done to it and because of the weather it was taking a very long time for them to repave. The lead guide that day, my buddy, mentioned this to the group of tourists we had that day. One rather outspoken gentleman responded
"Yup, that's O-bham-a's stimulus package hard at work."
After a brief pause we informed him "Sir, you know this is Canada right?"
The response "Yea! He gave them our money too."
Is it really that hard to think about what you say before you say it? Shouldn't you maybe understand a bit more about your country before outwardly commenting on it like you're an authority in political science? Am I just not getting something?!?
