Hey everyone thanks for looking at my thread. I am picking up a pair of fish labeled as a breeding texas cichlid pair. When I looked at them I can't distinctively tell if they are true Texas or Carpintis. He says they are not carpintis as the spots would be more irregular (which I think they are). Attached are quite a few pictures to hopefully get positive identification! Either way I am going to pick these fish up as they are beautiful and definitely different. I currently have a 55g but within the next 4 months will be getting a 75. They are approximately 4" right now so I think they should be ok for that short amount of time.

I would say Cyanoguttatus, or "TRue Texas"....

Hey guys, I was the one originally telling adixon816 that they're carpintis, not cyanoguttatum. I was waiting for a few peeps to answer before I chimed in just so that everyone can speak their opinion freely.

Just wondering - why do everyone think that they're cyano? I mean, the pearlings themselves are very irregular, especially in images 7, 9 and 10. Some are large, some are small. They're all pretty much of different shapes, and there's really no pattern. Wouldn't that make this a carp? Or at least, not a cyano?
