is this a true wild oscar or???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they where sold to me as wild oscars but it was from my lfs and ya no how they can be so i am just makin sure so i dont show them to some one and look like a dumb *** when the say it is not a true wild oscar

they are nice looking oscars, but I highly, highly doubt that they're wild caught. oscars, like jack dempseys, firemouths, convicts etc are so easy to breed and so commonly available that there are very rarely wild caught fish imported into the US. the ones you see in the lfs mostly come from farms in Florida. Jeff Rapps is the only one I'd trust to sell me "wild caught" oscars.

True or not you can tell people they are

idk but look great... seen the same colotr ones at a walmart once... but it nvr said wild caught

I doubt they are wild caught but they look like they have the wild coloration and that's probably what the LFS ment when saying wild oscars, they are typically sold under the name common oscar.

I've seen young Tiger Oscars with those markings...maybe when they get alittle bigger...

Looks like mine. I bought him being told the same thing but it turned out it was just a baby tiger. Ended up giving him to my brother.
