you mean on the tail? doesn't look like a tumor. Did you touch it? It might just be a spot

that is something that some fis h have to protect themselves
in the wild many ciclids are in lakes with piranhas and piranhas start
by wating the tail and move on to the head. This spot looks like an
eye so that the fish is protected from piranha becasue they do not know
where to start and leave the fish alone.

You mean an Ocella? If that were the case it would not be a lump, IMHO.

Yeah, but this is a bump not a spot. Its a pea sized "growth" on the right side only, not the left.
Anyone else out there have a fish with a growth like this?
 
I have had several with lumps / bumps on various parts of the body. Some go away, some get bigger. Not sure what it is but it is not uncommon in my experience.
